Team Bio – Eric

From modest small town roots, Eric is a founding partner at Array Creative and currently resides in Huntersville, Array’s North Carolina branch. His impressive background in brand strategy spans over 20 years, including advertising and product development experience. Many of Array’s founding principles stem from Eric’s excessive passion for the creative process and desire for great design that performs at retail. Eric is a standup husband, father and employer, always ready for his next adventure. But if he weren’t a small business owner, you would probably find him driving a food truck along some beach, somewhere.

What are your favorite smells and why?
I’m a strange creature, but love the smell of racing fuel, used motor oil and motorcycle exhaust. Reminds me of my youth and remains a part of my soul today.

Can you go a whole day without caffeine?
YES, but only on vacation when the coffee is replaced by a cold beverage on the beach.

Who knows more about you than anyone else?
Without question my wife. The good, the bad and the ugly — Stacie and I dated through college and have been married for 20 years. She is an absolute angel.

Do you cook?
When home, I cook every meal. Everything from a dinner party of 50 to Saturday morning pancakes, it’s one of the very few things that will take my mind away from projects. For the past decade I’ve been working to perfect my hickory smoked brisket, boston butt (pork shoulder), and BBQ chicken. My salsa made with end of summer tomatoes and garden fresh cilantro is pretty darn good.

What was the last film you watched?
With my travel schedule I rarely get to the theatre, but during the holidays I took my daughter to see Frozen. I’ll do nearly anything she says. Does anyone know where I can get a pink pony?

At home we have a huge library of movies and concert DVDs. The last time I was awarded the privilege, I chose White House Down with Jamie Foxx and Channing Tatum. Not my best decision, but the company and the popcorn was awesome!!!

What is your favorite drink?
Kettle One, club soda, lemon (not a lime)

What was the last book you purchased?
A motorcycle repair guide. Don’t judge!

Where was your last vacation?
Historic and beautiful Charleston, SC. It was our 20th anniversary and we had an absolute blast!

Have you ever broken a bone? If so, how did it happen?
Incredibly, nothing that required a cast. However, off-road motorcycle racing/riding has led to all types of dislocations, stitches, a few concussions and multiple surgeries. Every good ride should have a near death experience.

How do you like your eggs?
Simple. Over easy with bacon and rye toast.
